Miles away I came, in search of you
Longing to have a closer glance at you
Searching, snooping in farmlands; far away and deserted.
Encircled in the dark and looking for the bird with a swivelling head
Probing thy sparkling eyes, perching through.
Ravenous, parched, but without passion, lost
Yet, had a fire in my belly to find you
As the night gets thicker, losing hope, returned
Leaving behind the thought of those
Yellow intriguing eyes, seeker of knowledge.
Eyes, that mirror shielded secrets and,
Known as a mystery, not a beauty
An omen, a castaway from the crowd.
Then at the farm, tired was I.
Then I felt the warmth of an Omani,
Known for friendliness and genialness
Being with the stranger birders in the night,
Spares to spot those sparkling eyes
Waiting, waiting, time passes.
Disappointed, lost and decided to drive back home
Then the call came, rousing the excitement within me
I rushed back to the thick trees; more darkened at night
There I found you sitting in the branch
I clicked those stunning eyes to my heart
Alas, I find one black hole in place of your intriguing eyes!!!
A dark hole in place of sparkling yellowish tubes
An eye that was lost, to human greed and wickedness
To be famous and adorn their shallow head with more feathers
An eye sacrificed to bring glory to the greedy.
Head back home with my rend heart…
